My Mom was born in Central Illinois and I love going back to visit family there! Now, with our 2-year-old daughter as our 6AM portable alarm clock, we have plenty of time to explore the countryside early in the morining!
It was a drizzly morning but nothing that a good rain jacket couldn't handle, so we set off driving mostly aimlessly from our hotel through the fields. When we came upon this barn I knew we had to stop. The foreboding sky hovering over the barn that's clearly seen and survived hundreds of storms before...and the sun just peeking over the horizon. I could get all philosophical here, but suffice it to say that I think these elements come together to create an intriguing scene.
